Outstanding food and service! The savory beignets were delicious, all dipped in savory goat cheese and mushrooms, my mouth is watering just thinking about it. The French onion soup had gooey chewy melted cheese on top, total perfection. The grand prize winner was the lamb! The flavors were absolute perfection! Worth every penny. It was my mom’s birthday and they brought out complimentary truffles, very cute. The coconut cream pie hit the spot. I recommend reservations. Our server was awesome. Overall fantastic experience.
Amazing location but overpriced for the quality of the food. We went with very high expectations for the 3 course Christmas dinner but left disappointed. The gnocchi was actually my favorite plate. The Halibut and the desserts were tasty. The rest of our food was just ordinary and very slow to come out of the kitchen.
Our server Blake was very very nice. However the food was slow to come out of the kitchen. We had reservations at 4:30 so that we could get to the Candlelight Christmas Tour on time. But food coming out so slowly made us super nervous that we were going to be late. This was our anniversary and supposed to be a special stay for us but it ended up being a stressful dinner. The duck was good but not great and was not prepared for it being served on a bed of red onions with not enough puree. My husband’s flounder was tasty but not over the top. The coconut cream pie saved the dinner. I would say the overall meal and slow kitchen did not meet our expectations.
We stopped in for a late lunch after we finished our indoor tour of the Biltmore house. I had the beef stew which had a very good taste however the portion size was rather skimpy. It was my wife's birthday so the waitress brought out two truffles! Overall a nice touch to a nice lunch.
The experience was a treat. A day at the estate followed with a fabulous meal fresh from the local farm was a great end to the day. We had a pre paid dinner package reservations and were able to order an appetizer, dinner and dessert each from the menu. Highly recommended the experience.
My boyfriend and I came to Asheville to visit because we heard the farm to table culture is big in Asheville NC and boy did the bistro embody that and knock it out of the park
The food was absolutely fantastic, tasted fresh, light, and all flavor profiles fit so well together. Not to mention the service by our waitress, Jennifer was perfect. Very tentative, accommodating, and communicative. Would highly recommend for anyone around the area.
I have been to the bistro before, and we started our dinner, rather late the first time. This experience was not very good to be honest. We had a reservation for 7:15. Upon being seated we did notice how busy the restaurant was. We alerted our server that we had a 9:15 reservation for the candlelight Christmas tour of Biltmore. The server was honestly great and nice, and I suppose she couldn’t help the fact that the kitchen was so slow. Meals were ordered promptly. Food was anything but prompt. First course of soups and salads took 30 minutes … ok forgivable. French onion soup was on point. However, mains took 45 more minutes after we finished first course. We had to literally scarf our food down, pay, and get out. I had the filet mignon cooked medium rare, and it was just OK. The potatoes and green beans were good but the actual meat was not worth the $60 price tag. The flounder was okay too, not stellar. I saw crème brûlée walking in the restaurant, but we did not have time to even think about dessert.
All in all, it was a mediocre experience, and I will not be back here again.
It's expected that any restaurant in the incredible estate would be top notch and that is exactly the case with the Bistro. It was a lovely quiet romantic atmosphere. The wait staff from beginning to end were helpful, friendly, and just on top of everything. We never had a want for anything but also didn't feel any invasion of space. The food was out of this world, their gluten free options were wildly delicious and my country girl heart was delighted they had Venison and sun chokes, I could eat this every day. My partner has the special which was a 58 day dry aged bone in ribeye. He was exceptionally happy with it and was kind enough to share a bite and it was also perfection. I may have to move up here to live closer to this restaurant.
